Contemplative Circles

Small groups journeying, learning, and practicing together.

A Contemplative Conversation Circle is not a course. It is a community — a group of people studying contemplative practice and living, and learning how to apply it to their lives.

In our groups, we create a safe, sacred container for conversation and practice as we journey together through books on contemplation, Christianity, and spiritual growth. Through shared ground rules and curiosity, we learn from each other, ourselves, and the text. Many participants stick with their groups for future studies and become ongoing groups.

We read a book together over eight weeks, meeting for one hour on Zoom. We open with contemplative practice, then talk about what we found in the reading. No expertise is required and there is no homework beyond the book — and if the reading doesn’t happen some weeks, come anyway. There is always more to engage than the text alone.

Circles are where most people find their footing here. The gatherings are open to anyone; a circle is where you come to know a handful of people well.

Not a course — a community. People studying contemplative practice and living, and learning how to apply it to their lives.
